The HiLASE Center, part of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, is a leader in the field of applied laser research. Through its activities, it contributes to a sustainable future, the development of the Czech and European economies, and the inspiration of a new generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. This internship offers students the opportunity to participate in research on cutting-edge laser technologies focused on creating structures with biofunctional properties. Using state-of-the-art laser beam shaping methods and multi-beam processing, surfaces with the potential for antibacterial or antimicrobial effects and the promotion of cell growth will be created.
What will the internship involve?
- participation in active research projects focused on micro- and nanostructures with biofunctional properties,
- working with advanced techniques for multi-shot processing and laser beam shaping,
- creating and testing surfaces with antibacterial or antimicrobial effects,
- literature reviews and participation in laboratory experiments,
- working with diagnostic equipment.
What we’re looking for:
- an interest in laser technology, materials engineering, or biotechnology,
- basic knowledge of physics, optics, or related fields,
- proficiency in English,
- laboratory experience is a plus, but not required.
What we offer:
- flexible working hours tailored to your schedule and studies,
- hands-on experience with laser technologies and advanced analytics,
- expert guidance and support from experienced researchers,
- Access to high tech equipment and research facilities,
- the opportunity to work in the inspiring environment of an international research center
