Artificial intelligence is a trending topic in society and is becoming a valuable tool in scientific practice. But how can it be used effectively? Answers to this question were provided during the lecture “AI: A Scientist’s Assistant,” which took place on February 27 as part of the new STRATEGY AV 21 project, AI: Artificial Intelligence for Science and Society.
Within the global Strategy AV 21 — and therefore also within the new AI strategy — Radius Center has its place. This allows us to connect scientific topics and actively support the education of our interns. The new project focused on artificial intelligence opens up further opportunities for development — whether through professional events, workshops, or lectures. One such valuable lecture was “AI: A Scientist’s Assistant.”
Under the guidance of doc. Prof. RNDr. Barbara Zitová, Ph.D., and her colleagues from UTIA of the CAS, interns learned how to properly formulate prompts for AI, explore the capabilities of tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, and see how AI facilitates data analysis, content generation, and daily scientific work. The lecture concluded with a stimulating discussion initiated by the audience, focusing on AI security and its impact on the future of society.
This event demonstrated that AI is not a threat but a valuable assistant that can save time. Our interns can apply the knowledge they have gained not only during their time at Radius Center but also in their future scientific careers. We warmly invite everyone to explore the possibilities of AI and look forward to future meetings!
