Computer Simulations of Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles

Superparamagnetic nanoparticles are used as an active medium in cancer treatment through magnetic hyperthermia (https://vesmir.cz/cz/casopis/archiv-casopisu/2024/cislo-5/nanosvet-nemz-je-sekunda-temer-vecnosti.html). Optimizing their properties requires a detailed understanding of the magnetization reversal mechanism in high-frequency magnetic fields, taking surface effects into account. The student will first familiarize themselves with micromagnetic theory and its application to the study of magnetic materials. The goal of the independent work will be to determine the energetically most favorable mechanisms for magnetization reversal in an external magnetic field for superparamagnetic nanoparticles of various shapes and sizes. A basic knowledge of Python is required to address this topic.
